I’m starting a new habit of not turning on my phone immediately in the morning. (My phone is actually on recording the length of my sleep and ready for if I need an alarm, but it’s in flight mode).

It wasn’t this particular article, but I’ve read before that being in a reactive state first thing in the morning can kill your productivity.

Starting this new habit, the first thing I do with my phone in the morning is cancel sleep tracking, then plug it into my speakers and start playing from my current podcast list. I listen to personal development and success podcasts while preparing breakfast and lunch, doing my exercises and drinking water.

I find this gives me a clear mind and I can focus on proactive long term goals rather than reactive short term mobile notifications.

If you have any questions or comments, I look forward to hearing them.
