YouTube Yoga – Great Health, Flexibility and Fat-burning all from the comfort of your home

This post outlines an introduction to YouTube Yoga, doing yoga at home while watching YouTube videos. I’ve found it’s a very inexpensive and convenient way to maintain fitness. As with any fitness activity, make sure you take the necessary precautions and warm up before trying it out to avoid injury.

SESSION01 – 30 Minute Yoga for Strength and Flexibility

A bit of rain discouraged me from going to my yoga class tonight, so I took the opportunity to try out my 400yen Daiso Yoga mat at home watching this YouTube yoga video. It was a great session. Highly recommended for those who don’t have a gym membership. I mainly use my gym for the swimming pool, but my membership includes the weight training room and studio classes, including yoga. It was good to experience studio classes before trying a YouTube yoga lesson at home.

SESSION02 – 20 Minute Total Body Beginner Flow

Getting my money’s worth out of my 400yen Daiso Yoga mat. Got back after a Wine night and had a hankering for another YouTube Yoga session. At the moment I’m following the YouTube Channel Yoga By Candace because it was the first to appear relevant in search results for me. I’ll try other videos in the future too.

SESSION03 – Intense Core Yoga 29min

Today I decided to mix it up. New instructor, Christine. Not that there was anything wrong with Yoga by Candace, but I wanted to try a different perspective. This was different alright! No longer “Yoga for Beginners”, this Intense Core Yoga session had me tapping out midway. This workout absolutely destroyed my abs (in a good way!). Respect to Christine, her abs are made of steel! She coasts through this instructional workout pummelling the abs from every direction without breaking a sweat. If you want a serious ab workout, I suggest you try this Yoga video.

When I couldn’t push any further, I defaulted to some Yoga stretches I knew while watching Christine complete the sets and more. Once she moved on to a different exercise I caught up and continued the session. Make sure you read over the health disclaimers before you start an intense workout like this. Not for the faint-hearted, or faint-stomached!
