Here’s a selection of street photography I took in Fukushima ward, Osaka, Japan.
The camera I’m using is a big, hefty SONY A700 DSLR with a 50mm macro lens.

This first shot of a security guard was taken from a moving escalator. I was trying to get him in the cross-hairs of those rails to get a leading line effect. My timing was better than expected, and I like that he noticed me shooting him (probably because of the massive DSLR I was shooting with).

This shot was taken as I peered into a favourite tea store of mine, The tee by MLESNA TEA in Herbis Plaza. I thought the 50mm on an APS-C framed this nicely.

Again, I was looking for leading lines in this one, but didn’t really pull it off.

Fukushima Street Photography 04 – Ferrari moving slow
Saw a Ferrari driving past and took a quick shot. Would have been better if I had it on shutter priority and panned with the car to make the background blur, giving it a fast-looking effect.

Fukushima Street Photography 05 – Statue on the street
This statue was in a good position to try out the bokeh potential with the A700’s 50mm macro lens. I thought the bokeh was quite pleasing.

I like how this shot turned out. I had the framing in mind before I took the shot and the lady happened to be in the right place.
