Here’s a recent comparison test of the photo quality from a Huawei Nexus 6P and a SONY RX100M3.

SONY RX100M3

This first shot is from a SONY RX100M3. With a larger sensor and much higher quality lens, the RX100M3 shot is substantially sharper. However, this is probably only noticeable if you zoom in to 100%. For mobile photography, I think it would be very difficult to notice the difference. It would be advantageous over the Nexus 6P if you needed to crop the photo and highlight some details. You also have the advantage of an optical zoom lens on the RX100M3 which would produce much better quality in addition to lens compression which can flatter your subjects by reducing the distortion from a wide lens.

Huawei Nexus6P – Standard Auto

Even with this standard shot, I’m noticing more vibrant colour from the green flags on the left. Like the shot above though, the sky is blown out, white and uninteresting. You can notice that the RX100M3 lens has a bit more width. The tree on the right isn’t visible in this picture.

Huawei Nexus 6P – Google Camera HDR+

To be fair, I should have taken a HDR shot with the RX100M3 too. That will be my mission next time. Of the 3 shots, I think this brought out the most detail, particularly in the sky which is blown out in the previous shots. I could probably recover some of the sky if I edited the RAW files of the photos above, but these days I try to minimise editing as much as possible, so I would rather have the HDR shot straight out of the camera.
